Porthole Table

I have had a pair of  Portholes for years and decided to make something with them. I made two tables. They are a matched set.  The Portholes are now display cases for small treasures that have been Beachcombed over the years.  The Porthole is placed to one side so that there is room for a lamp or whatever. The wood is White Pine,  the stretcher beneath is covered with a French Grapevine braid.  The measurements are 36" x 22" and it stands 21" high. The top is a "Golden Rectangle" a shape most pleasing to the eye.

The Porthole has a false botton and opens up to become a display case for small Beachcombed treasures like Sea Beans, small Fishing Floats, Seashells and Fossils.
